For those of you who haven't checked out the Handmade Gift Exchange going on over at Craftoholics Anonymous, I signed up to make a gift for someone i was paired up with who in turn makes something for me!

This is what I made for my partner!

A cute three rosette headband on skinny elastic.

The gal I was paired with has the cutest little girl, and I can see them sharing this! :)

it was pretty beat up, sorry i didn't take a before picture!

Cool, huh? I originally started to paint it an ivy green, but ran out of paint and the store in town was out of it too! so i picked up some red. glad i did, because I like it red much better!

The big 4th of July is next weekend!!!

I can almost taste the big juicy burgers, the grilled corn on the cob smothered in chipotle butter (invented by my amazing husband cook!), and the melt in your mouth sweet strawberry & blueberry parfaits!!!

I can almost hear the loud POP, BANG, SCREAM of fireworks.

The smell of them burning,

The sight of them flashing in the night sky.

Hearing my children laugh.

Hugging my husband.

Enjoying the company of our families!

It's almost too much to bear!

I wish it was already here!!!

The Saturday Market: Plaza Diane

Today was my very first craft show at the Plaza Diane for the Saturday Market! I will be having a booth there every Saturday all summer long!

It was a beautiful day! There wasn't a huge turn out, but alot

of people are getting their Father's Day shopping out of

the way today and a few other things were going on.

Next week is Powell High School Alumni weekend, so

hopefully more people come stop by!

How do you like my very first booth?

It sure was a hot day, the water fountain was a good way

to cool off!

It was nice meeting the other vendors. They are a group of really talented people!

So tonight was a

girls night out!

Rhiannon and I went to

a craft show with live music

at the Plaza Diane

in Powell, Wyoming.

I just got a booth secured for it and

also for the Saturday Market

EVERY

Saturday all summer!

I am so excited!

Rhiannon fell in love with some button rings

made by the wife of someone who works with me!

You put off things

because you are

too tired to get off

the couch..

off the computer..

out of the craft room..

and out of the fridge!

And blame it on being too busy.

Vicious cycle.

Sometimes you just have to

take a step back...

take a deep breath...

and

do the things you have been

putting off.

Enjoy yourself.

Laugh.

Hug your kids.

Kiss your Husband.

{a big wet one on the cheek!}

and live life!!!

That's why we are here..

right?

That's why we go to work.

That's why we are tired.

So we have the freedom

to enjoy our life.

So this is what we did tonight:

I actually took 30 minutes

and set up the

slip-n-slide

Something the kids

have been

itching

to do for a month!

Problem was, we needed to

buy a new garden hose

and i was just too busy

and too tired

I learned a lesson tonight.

My priority needs to be

fun times like these.

Where I can just sit back,

relax,

and enjoy my family.

Do you ever have "ah-ha!" moments like this?

Beautiful. Hilarious. Upbeat. Caring. & Talented.

Oh yeah... and she makes the best homemade soaps!!

Layne's Soaporium has an etsy shop and facebook page!

Her soaps are GREEN! (eco friendly, sorta green) All natural ingredients except for the fragrance. You can request a fragrance free as well so you can be green up to your ears!

I've already been through one bag of laundry soap she made me, and I'm on my second now!

She makes all sorts of soaps.

Bars, laundry soap, deodorant...

oh and lipbalm!

I haven't tried anything other than the laundry soap, but I can't wait to try everything she has!

It's such a nice smell!

Last time I ordered White Tea.... THE BEST.

I might have to get White Tea next time.

It's so clean and crisp smelling, perfect for summer!

Every bag of laundry soap lasts over 32 loads!!!!

How great is that? Plus eco friendly?

It doesn't get much better than that!

You put just 1-2 teaspoons of soap in per load depending on the size of load you are doing!

I of course, have not learned much from my mother and cramp the washer full of clothes... so I put 2 teaspoons in!

Afterward the clothes have just a hint of the scent.

Perfect.

Her laundry soap is great for high efficiency washers, or regular washes (don't i wish mine was high efficiency... )

The Semper Gumby Shoppe: Product Review

Hello Hello Hello!!!

Today I got something SPECIAL in the mail!!

Lindsey over at Confessions of a Marine Wife asked if i wanted to review one of her headbands! Of course I said yes... have you seen the cuteness in her shoppe lately?

I especially love her crocheted accessories. I admire anyone who can crochet... because, well... i am just not that talented or patient!!!

Anyway, back to the story! Today I got something special in the mail... When I opened the package from her I was delighted to see the gorgeous rich colors of mustard yellow and warm gray.

I pulled it out... SO SOFT!!!! I not only am excited to have this headband, but now I want it as a blanket!!!

I love how she crocheted several bands to make the headband, and attached them to a NON SLIP {love it!} gray stretchy elastic headband using elegant black satin ribbon.

Dont you just want to cuddle it? Well I did... with my head!

Thankyou, Lindsey! I absolutely love it! I cant wait to show it off!

Yesterday I had a {lovey dovey} photo shoot!

It was alot of fun and one of my friends modeled for it!

It was just extremely windy (and cold!) and it was raining a little...

but we still came out with some great pictures!

I cant wait to have another one! Hopefully with a baby :)

Post Queen Bee Market Trip!

Yes, I traveled all the way from WYOMING to San Diego, California to go to the Queen Bee Market! It was pretty epic. It was everything I hoped and dreamed it would be and then some!!! I got to meet Heather at {just.lovely.things} and Sarah at Little Penelope Lane. (I will post pictures of what I bought from them another time!! its all rainy and weird out today... pictures would be bad!) I was about to pee my pants I was so excited {but i am so sly, you wouldn't have been able to tell}. I got alot of great ideas for my own business from going.... like better ways to set up my booth for parties/fairs and also decided that my name needed to change. It was too blah and needed to be short and sweet! My mom and I were driving home from Del Mar and were going over things that popped into our heads.... and I decided on Lovey Dovey! I hope you all approve of my change! I figured I am just starting out, I can still change it if I want to! But no worries... it will stay Lovey Dovey! My first Love Point Creations Party!

Yesterday I had my first Love Point Creations party hosted by Kaci Dillworth! It was great! Not too many people showed up because they were out of town for Easter... but we still had a great time drinking lemonade and eating fresh fruit and chocolate covered cream puffs!!! Oh and please dont forget having oh so much fun trying on all those hair accessories (and flip flops!)

Pirate Party and more

This weekend was my son's 9th birthday part! {I can't believe he is already that old} A PIRATE party to be exact! I couldn't find ANY pirate themed party stuff anywhere around where I live (out in the middle of nowhere, WYOMING) So I improvised and made my own! I found really great pirate party printables at Cottage Industrialist

here is how I used them :)

He wanted donuts instead of a cake... so it was kind of cool how the "sails" made the donuts look like a pirate ship!!!

Also I cut up some cheap fabric I found for all the kids to have pirate scarfs around their heads!

There's my little man being a pirate!

And next are some of his friends/family having a donut feast!

Here are the few decorations we had. I didn't have much because we planned on having a pool party and at the last minute the pool decided they were going to be closed for a month!!.... so this is what you get!

And of course, I had to look the part too!

After all the party business was over I got back into making more hair accessories and the like! :)

This last one is a bracelet I made for my niece's first communion coming up in a few weeks... hope she likes it!

Earrings

Bow Board

I created a bow board last night for my little bug, Rhiannon!!
The frame I found at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section... pretty amazing, huh? The fabric was on sale too! I was pleased with my thriftiness!

And today while listening to General Conference I made some more hair accessories with some scraps found at JoAnn's in Billings yesterday!! I had some great finds... and I love my kids for putting up with me wandering them around Hobby Lobby for 2 hours! {I love that place!}

Now this following one is pretty special to me. My grandmother just passed away a few months ago and this pattern is what she had for her wallpaper in her den {in blue though}. I was so excited when I saw it in the scrap bin!!! My mom also loves this pattern.. and I guess I must follow family tradition and fall in love with it as well!!

Tonight was the Tacos for Tatas event to help support a few girls at the hospital going to a Breast Cancer Walk!!! It was awesome! Great food and silent auction! What was even more exciting for me was seeing people wearing my hair creations! A few days ago I made up a bunch of pink hair accessories and sold them at a discounted price for people to have cute pink hair statements for the big event!!! Here are the pictures I was able to take, some of them didn't turn out so well because of the flash on my camera!

So today I got a big box in the mail from my mom who is in California cleaning out my Grandma's house! She sent me some vintage fabric from the 60's that my grandma had kept! She could only send me some of it but will be bringing me more later! I am so excited! So I made up some hair accessories and loved the results!

Also, here is what i worked on over the weekend ....

I have to say that I am now completely addicted to making these little lovelies! But I was told by my loving husband that I'm not allowed to keep all of them (for fear that our fridge will look "fluffy")!!! Haha, so I will be selling these for $3.00 each and will be making many more in the future im sure! But because I am addicted to just looking at them I hope that you will be too! I find myself singing "gotta collect them all!" to the tune of pokemon!

And of course the "geek" side of me took hold and I had to make a pac-man ghost magnet!

Easter Headband

I made a headband to match my daughter's Easter dress and it worked out perfectly! The colors match exactly!

I'm sure she will have to share that with me sometime! Also I made a few hair clips:

Recently I have gotten into creating hair accessories and such. Here are some pictures of what I have done so far... so much more to come!!! I will update this blog every time I make something new! And will also be sharing fun things I find on other blogs!
